Year 3 21/22
Year 3 cooking
Our topic for Design Technology this term is cooking. As you can imagine the children were very excited to hear we would be cooking and we certainly have some superb chefs! This week we made pizza pittas. Here's some photos from our afternoon.
🌍Year 3 geography 🌍
In year 3 we have been learning about our local area. The children have really enjoyed researching Bedhampton over the past few weeks. We have learnt about how Bedhampton has changed over the years and what it is like to live in Bedhampton in 2022.
Today we completed this topic by putting all we had learnt into an amazing piece of work which some have gone on display and we are so proud to share many of these with you all! Take a look below....
Bidbury history has been made!

Year 3 Update
This past week the year 3’s have been hard at work, here’s a look at what they have done:
In maths, they have continued with division and have been looking at dividing two-digit numbers by one-digit numbers. They used place value counters to help with this. Here are a few photos showing their great work:
In guided reading, the students have continued reading The Lorax by Dr Seuss. The students were able to make their own Truffula Trees using the description from the text. Here are a few photos of the students trees:
The students enjoyed learning Cricket with the Ageas Bowl!
A big Happy New Year!
Welcome back to all of the year 3 children and their families.
Here's a little update on what Willow and Beech class will be learning this term...
Our new book in English this term is called 'There's a Rang-tan in my bedroom' by James Sellick and Fran Preston-Gannon, in collaboration with Greenpeace.
The children have been having some amazing discussions and coming up with some fantastic topic specific vocabulary for the new book. We have watched the Greenpeace Rang-tan campaign advert and discussed how it makes us feel and what different views people may have. The first two lessons we have created a word bank to refer back too throughout the topic and today we used some time adverbials to order the key events from the advert, in chronological order.
The children have been so resilient with coming back to school and settling down to work. We are very proud of them all.
Year 3 trip to Butser Ancient Farm
We are so pleased to able to share some photos from the year 3 trip to Butser Ancient Farm on Monday 6th December.
We all had so much fun, even though the weather wasn't on our side. A little soggy and a little chilly but the children were amazing and got hands on with the activities the farm had to offer.
These included spinning wool, making iron age jewellery, digging for stone age artefacts and exploring homes from the Stone age, Iron age and Bronze age.
We all enjoyed lunch together and even had time to sing some Christmas songs around the open fire.
We all had such a fantastic day and hope you enjoy the photos!
Beech and Willow class really enjoyed Art day at the end of the half term.
We learnt about cave art and how the stone age people used different materials and techniques to create art in caves.
We have been reading about the stone age in our guided reading topic also!
The children enjoyed researching different ways to show their vision of cave art by using charcoal and getting just a little bit messy!
Take a look below at some of the awesome cave art masterpieces that were produced.
Year 3 take away night
We are so pleased to be able to share some photo's from our year 3 takeaway night!
The children had a lovely, fun packed evening at school after hours.
Firstly the children were separated into three groups to participate in different activities around the school. Arts and crafts, just dance and playground games.
After this it was time for yummy food in the hall followed by teachers v children hide and seek. Which was so much fun! The children were amazing seekers and really enjoyed hunting for the teachers all over the school. Indoors and outside!
We really enjoyed seeing all the year 3's enjoying their special evening together
